Summary
Effective June 1, 2022, Arizona's Medicaid program (AHCCCS) requires all professional and dental service claims submitted by integrated clinics (Provider Type IC), behavioral health outpatient clinics (Provider Type 77), and clinics (Provider Type 05) to identify the individual practitioner who rendered services. Claims for dates of service on or after June 1, 2022 that omit this information will be denied by AHCCCS and its managed care organizations. The requirement is detailed in Exhibit 10-1 of the AHCCCS Fee-For-Service Provider Billing Manual.
What this may mean
This applies to claims submitted through both AHCCCS fee-for-service and its contracted managed care organizations. The rule directly affects revenue cycle operations for Arizona Medicaid behavioral health providers.
