BT202646: IHCP to require ABA agencies to be accredited

Score 73PRIMARYregulatoryState MedicaidIN

Summary

IHCP Bulletin BT202646 (March 26, 2026) announces that all ABA group enrollments in the Indiana Medicaid program will be required to hold active accreditation from either the Autism Commission on Quality (ACQ) or the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) beginning October 1, 2027. Currently enrolled ABA group providers must submit documentation demonstrating that the accreditation process has been initiated no later than August 1, 2026, with failure to do so resulting in enrollment deactivation. All providers must complete accreditation and remain actively accredited by October 1, 2027, to remain enrolled in the IHCP.

What this may mean

Existing Indiana Medicaid ABA group providers face a hard documentation deadline of August 1, 2026, to demonstrate initiation of accreditation, with deactivation as the enforcement consequence for non-submission. Providers that do not achieve and maintain accreditation by October 1, 2027, will be disenrolled from IHCP, terminating their ability to bill Medicaid for ABA services. New ABA group enrollments seeking exceptions to the concurrent enrollment moratorium (see BT202692) must already be accredited.
