New Health Plan Announced for Rhode Islanders Dually Enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid

Score 71PRIMARYregulatoryState MedicaidRI

Summary

The Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services and Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island announced a new Fully Integrated Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (FIDE-SNP) called INTEGRITY for Duals, replacing the existing INTEGRITY Medicare-Medicaid Plan effective January 1, 2026. The plan covers dual-eligible Rhode Islanders and includes long-term services and supports and behavioral health care, with automatic enrollment for current INTEGRITY MMP members who may opt out. Members whose current providers are not in the new network may retain those providers for up to six months while transitioning.

What this may mean

Current INTEGRITY MMP enrollees will be automatically transitioned to the new FIDE-SNP on January 1, 2026, without action required, though they retain the right to opt out. Providers not in the new Neighborhood network will remain accessible to transitioning members for up to six months, after which members must transition to in-network providers. The plan change reflects a state-level restructuring of managed care contracting for dual-eligible individuals in Rhode Island, aligning with CMS FIDE-SNP regulatory requirements for MA plans serving dual-eligible beneficiaries.
