Attorney General seeking public comments on the joint venture between Intermountain Health and AdventHealth
What the document says
The Colorado Attorney General announced on October 27, 2026, that the Colorado Department of Law is soliciting public comment on the proposed joint venture between Intermountain Health and AdventHealth, which was announced in July 2026. The review is conducted pursuant to the Colorado Hospital Transfer Act, C.R.S. § 6-19-201, which obligates the Attorney General to review the transaction. Under that statute, the Attorney General must ensure the transaction will not result in a material change in the charitable purposes to which the hospitals' assets have been dedicated, and that assets do not leave the state of Colorado. The Attorney General must also consider whether the transaction results in reductions in the availability or accessibility of health care services in the communities served by the affected hospitals. The Department of Law is accepting written comments and information at Advent-Intermountain@coag.gov through November 20, 2026. Attorney General Phil Weiser will host a public meeting on November 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center, First Floor Conference Rooms 1ABC, 1300 Broadway, Denver, Colorado.
What this may mean
