Attorney General Ellison’s Medicaid fraud unit executes search warrants at two locations
What the document says
On October 29, 2026, agents of the Minnesota Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU), together with agents from the HHS Office of Inspector General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, executed search warrants at two autism-services entities: Iska, Inc., located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Bright Horizon Therapy Center, located in Edina, Minnesota. Both entities provide Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) services and other Medicaid-funded services. The Minnesota MFCU and federal law enforcement are jointly investigating both entities for Medicaid fraud. The Minnesota MFCU operates under a federal grant award totaling $5,078,704 for Federal FY 2026, with 75% funded by HHS and the remaining 25%, totaling $1,692,898, funded by the State of Minnesota. Since 2019, the unit has secured 358 convictions for Medicaid fraud and $90 million in judgments and recoveries. In May 2026, the Minnesota Legislature passed and Governor Walz signed the Medical Assistance Protection Act, which provides the MFCU with additional resources and legal tools for Medicaid fraud enforcement. HHS OIG has publicly recognized Minnesota's MFCU as using its resources effectively and as pursuing aggressive prosecution of fraud.
